The process of physical acquisition of land for the ambitious Ring Road project will soon be commenced by the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA), which will be armed with foolproof security arrangements to carry out the land takeover.

The land acquisition process for the Ring Road project will be started by the JDA from Bagrana on Agra road. The location was visited by senior JDA officials as well as the police on Wednesday.

The land acquisition process by the JDA in Bagrana will involve the physical takeover of 360 metres, which will be demarcated and fortified with trenches. For the Ring Road project, the JDA has to take possession of land from housing colonies which have a total of more than 600 houses on the 1-km patch in Bagrana.

Barricades have already been put up to prevent protestors, and Section 144 of the CrPC has been imposed in the Bagrana area where the land has to be acquired by the JDA. Moreover, heavy police force has also been deployed in the area to tackle any untoward incident.

With a control room also having been set up at the JDA office to monitor the situation in Bagrana area, JDA Secretary Pawan Arora said: “All required equipment have been sent there. We have 12 JCBs, 2 dumpers and 15-20 tractors and trolleys to carry out the demarcation. To oversee the final preparation, I along with other officials have visited the spot.”
