JNNURM Project’s output upsets Naidu
Today the Minister of Urban Development, Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation M.Venkaiah Naidu reviewed the status of the construction of houses in Delhi. These houses were constructed under the component of Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM).
Naidu expressed concerns over the shortfall in respect of construction of houses under JNNURM. Ever since the Modi government has declared the agenda of ‘’Housing for all by 2022’’ his ministry is making all the efforts to make this dream come true. It was reported that the construction of only 22,924 units has been completed. Naidu was upset with these numbers as the original sanction for the dwelling units was for 64,184 units in Delhi.
Naidu will review these numbers and has directed his ministry to look into the road blocks for which these numbers could not be met. His ministry soon will chalk out a plan to complete the construction of the rest of the units. Modi is known for his time bound approach and his ministry also has learnt that they need to do better project management in order to meet the numbers.
This corporate approach is good for the growth of the nation and India Inc. is looking forward to a better GDP in the next few quarters. With the inflow of FDI, the financial crunches are met for many stalled projects, and the government is taking measures to ensure that the growth of the nation can be expedited.
