Lack of Basic Civic Amenities in Pushp Vihar Flats
There are three parks in Pushp Vihar Colony but there is hardly any greenery. Trees in the colony need proper and timely pruning but authorities are ignorant. Residents are looking after their parks on their own.
Increasing outside traffic flow in the colony is a reason for broken roads. Commuters from BRT corridor near Dakshinpuri use the inside lanes as shortcut to the PVR Saket road. Similarly from J Block commuters use the stretch to reach BRT. Not just this, lack of security is another problem of the colony. General secretary of the RWA Pankaj Bhardwaj adds, “We have fixed timings for vendors and outsiders for entering the colony but some chain snatching incidents have been reported.”
The lack of basic civic amenities in Pushp Vihar government flats at Sector III and IV is becoming a pain in the neck for the residents of the area. The first and foremost problem is the poor state of colony roads. Although the PWD repaired them last year but the situation comes back to square one. Bhardwaj says, “Roads are not properly maintained. During the rainy season, a number of potholes develop on the roads.”
On the other side PWD is in defensive mode. Assistant engineer of works department Anuj Dayal says, “We have already planned recarpeting of roads in the colony, but the work will start after rains. There are some stretches where we construct the roads after every one or two year.”
