Lift accidents have become quite common in the apartments which have more than 15 storeys in them.
It has been recently learnt that the local contractors charge around 50 percent less to take contracts in concern with lift and elevator maintenance.
One of activist from Mumbai who did a thorough research on Mumbai lifts has suggested the managing committees of housing societies to cut the costs as citizens are risking and compromising themselves in installing good security measures.
