MMRDA to Challenge clean chit to Builders in Land Case

A petition which was filed by a social activist against the builder who was found misusing the land is pending in the Bombay high court. The petitioned states value Rs 30,000 crore as a fraud money. The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is providing a clean chit to the builder involved in the Powai land case. The Powai Area Development Scheme has rejected a list of authorities and Rs 89.75 crore damage has been claimed on the builder.
Architect and housing activist PK Das reported saying that main issue was to find the source who allowed “depletion of public property”. The Powai land case clearly shows how affordable housing in Mumbai has not been possible because of The misuse of public land has made affordable housing a dream and the best example is the Powai Land case, he added. One of the allegations was that The land was meant for the sake of however the builder sold them as one large unit to the high-end clients.
