1 Comment Sub Category:Uncategorized Posted On: May 17, 2011

Residents of Model Colony area want the work of culvert to be expedited before the onset of the monsoon since it could lead to water logging.

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has begun constructing a culvert in Model Colony to prevent water logging this monsoon. According to the Pune Police (traffic branch), the road-Hare Krishna Mandir Path-will remain closed to vehicular traffic for two months for completion of the culvert.

Last year, heavy water logging had severely affected some houses, including the official residence of the municipal commissioner. The PMC has begun constructing a culvert over the pipelines carrying sewage in Model Colony to prevent water logging this monsoon. Meanwhile, Hare Krishna Mandir Path has been closed to facilitate the construction. The pipelines were broken for the work. Excavation work has also begun in a small area close to the municipal commissioner’s bungalow.

Residents of the area want the work to be expedited before the onset of the monsoon since it could lead to water logging.
