Mumbai Residential Complex Collapses-No Casualties
Mumbai Residential Complex, Sharada Complex situated near Sahar Road, built 52 years ago and which was under renovation collapsed on Saturday causing damage to cars and two-wheelers, but luckily, there were no casualties.
Sharada Complex situated near Sahar Road, Chakala, a three storey residential complex built 52 years ago was occupied by a good number of Mangaloreans, specially three guest apartments belonging to people from Udupi.It was under renovation which collapsed on Saturday July 16 night, causing damage to cars and two-wheelers, but luckily, there were no casualties.There have been no injuries, but the apartments have partially collapsed and are not suitable for stay.
The guest apartments are offered by seniors from the Catholic community of South Canara to youngsters who come to Mumbai in search of jobs. Those who do not have place to stay are welcomed in the residential guest apartments for a nominal rent.
Many old guest apartments had been rennovated or shifted. The Fathima Welfare Association Udayar, The Secret Heart Association Udyavar and Kundapur Catholic Association Kundapur guest apartments were situated in this building.
