Mumbai Suburban Builders Unique Norms

Mr Anand Gupta, General Treasurer, Business Association of India (BAI), reported saying that the norms were set to levy over the 100 per cent premium with the prevailing market rates. The BAI, Mumbai and Suburban Residents’ Welfare and Cooperative Associations reported saying that there was a complete disparity in Development Control rules of the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation in redevelopment in the suburbs in the main city.
The major issue was that the suburbs had no  incentive FSI and additional one FSI was to be purchased by Transfer of Development Rights (TDR). The redevelopment proposal in the Mumbai suburbs needs TDR purchase and the sanction from the municipal commissioner to gain a liability over open space requirement.
