Negotiation between MCG Gurgaon and Builders over Wrap Advertisements Rates
DLF, which owns a majority of the buildings in Gurgaon, most of which are located in the Cyber City area, has been trying to negotiate with the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) over the wall wrap advertisement rates for over a year. Those ads were being displayed on their own buildings. Demands hav been made but they were not fully met.
The corporation is asking for a rate of Rs 100 per square foot per month for these wrap advertisements, DLF has termed the amount “obscene” and has refused to pay the amount. DLF maintains that the rates are too steep.
When the stalemate could not be resolved even after many rounds of meetings between the two, the MCG decided to send notices to all the building owners asking them to pay up. It also indicated that these advertisements will be pulled down if the money is not paid.
“We have sent notices to all the owners and some have paid partially,” said MCG commissioner Sudhir Rajpal.
