New bill to check on land encroachment
Odisha government is all set to pave in a new law to keep a check on the illegal encroachments of land in the state.
The new law will be similar as per the laws issued in the states of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
Land encroachment has been noticed in all the major districts of the state totalling to 2,42,519.092 acres of government land.
The new laws to be implemented to stop land intrusion are Orissa Prevention of Land Encroachment (OPLE) Act, 1972 and OPLE Rules, 1985.
