New bus services launched in Mumbai
There is good news for bus commuters in Mumbai. Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) has announced that it will start Fort Ferry service. With this service one can travel to any stop within a fixed fare of five rupees. The buses wil operate on all the week days including Saturdays. There is also provision of monthly passes which will cost a mere two hundred and fifty rupees.
The service will follow a a circular bus route, which will pass along most of the commercial spots in the city. There will be two routes- Fort ferry 1 and 2, Fort 1 will ply from CST depot and travel through GPO, Fort market, Reserve Bank, Old Customs House, Mantralaya, Vidhan Bhavan, NCPA, Churchgate station, Hutatma Chowk, Khadi Bhandar and back to CST. The Fort ferry 2 will move in the sane direction but reverse. Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray from CST is scheduled to inaugurate the bus service today at 5 pm at CST.
