NHAI is Lagging Behind the Pace
NHAI once targeted to construct 20 Km road in a day. But the authority is lagging in pace for completing the projects.
According to an official of The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism and Culture, NHAI is not in a position to complete any project within the scheduled period.
It is also reported that in the comparison of completing 13.72 km road in a day in 2009-10, NHAI’s pace of construction has been reduced to 10.15 Km in 2011-12.
As per records, eight contracts for Golden Quadrilateral are still under implementation, while 69 contracts for the North, South and East, West corridors are waiting to be executed.
It is also reported that, NHAI is also not able to utilize the funds allocated for the road construction work in stipulated time.
