NHAI meeting discusses de-congestion of flyover
Gurgaon- In a meeting held by the NHAI (National Highways Authority of India) and Haryana Government, plans about the de-congestion of the Hero Honda crossing in Honda was discussed. Earlier, the NHAI was rapped by the Punjab and Haryana Court.
A senior government official in a meeting held in Chandigarh stated that there was a discussion by the joint committee about the innovative Japanese model for the de-congestion of the Hero Honda crossing. The project, “plan of Osaka model”, also known as elevated road model, was discussed in detail in the meeting along with the road map for the project.
The meeting however proved to be too heavy for the state government due to the delay of the flyover construction at the Hero Honda crossing. A petition moved by Hero Honda official which demanded a permanent solution to the mess at the Hero Honda Chowk was heard by the court. Just after the meeting, the court ordered the state government to put the project on a fast-track mode.
The meeting also had discussions about the Osaka model between the NHAI and Haryana government officials. As per the innovative model, a multistory building will have the roads passing through their second and third floors which will be constructed by a developer.
Earlier, the state government was not quite enthusiastic about the project but has now been considering due to its unique feature. As per a senior Haryana PWD official, reference by NHAI chairman was given pertaining the innovative model followed by a clear agreement about its functioning. He further stated that the skyscraper will have 16 floors which will be designed to facilitate a multi-layered elevated corridor de-congesting the Hero Honda Chowk.
It is believed that the building will have three layers of commercial space and carriage way on top of both the sides which will recover the cost. As per the officials, another meeting will be held in 10 days prior to the next date of court hearing.
