No Business in Mumbai due to Power Cut
South Mumbai had to witness severe power cuts recently hampering business in many parts. A number of offices and commercial establishments have to stop their work owing to the power failure. The commercial hub of the city namely- Nariman point and Cuffe Parade were the worst hit areas by this power failure. Some key establishments like the insurance companies, broking houses and banks have to bear the burnt of the crisis.
The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) Head Quarter in Nariman Point ran into losses mounting upto crores as many transactions could not happen in time. Many broking houses and banks in the zone had to undergo similar fate as they reeled under the power crisis. Some of the broking houses infact allowed their employees to leave early as they failed to generate business.
