No criminality found by CBI in land conversion by DLF
The case is regarding construction of a high-rise luxury apartment complex by DLF in the vicinity of Rashtrapati Bhavan which had led to security concerns. There is no irregularity found by CBI in this matter. DLF is the country’s largest real estate company. The CBI had registered a preliminary inquiry against unknown officials of Urban Development Ministry in July last year on the basis of a complaint received through the Central Vigilance Commission. The allegations were regarding conversion of land use from dairy farming to residential complex.
The inquiry has been closed after finding no criminality. The change in land use was a result of policy decision by the government and that the allegations that the real estate company was favoured could not be substantiated.
DLF said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange that the company had met the required approvals and the due process was complied with.
