No more advertisements in buses in Bhubaneshwar
Corporators in Bhubaneshwar are severely censuring the advertisements that adorns the buses plying in the city. The point was put up in a recent Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) council meeting. Many corporators alleged that due to the extreme make-over the buses are beyond recognition. The buses leads to utter confusion to commuters as they cannot make out which bus is travelling where.
The protest has prompted the BMC to get an explanation from Dream Team Sahara (DTS). DTS is a private body that is operating the public transport system in the city. Some corporators have also said that the DTS should announce its revenues generated by the advertisements with the government. They recommended that the company should sell small space for advertisements in stead of the full space on both sides, it leads to confusion. DTS chief executive officer Mr Sudhanshu Jena has said: that the advertisements in buses appear only after it is approved by the government. He also added that the designs were also set by the government.
