Noida Police launches community policing
Noida: Noida police have initiated a new community policing system in which station house officers and DSPs hold meetings with residents in their respective areas and hear grievances of the residents.
Noida SSP Preetinder Singh has launched the system on Monday. Meetings were held with RWA representatives at community centers of various sectors. Police stations witnessed people coming out in large numbers in rural areas.
Issues related to encroachments, parking, unauthorised movement of scrap dealers, etc were discussed with the police officials who assured the residents that suitable measures will be taken to address their concerns.
N P Singh, President of Federation of Noida Residents Welfare Association, said that Noida Police has started community policing in Noida on the request made by the residents and has even started holding meetings with Resident Welfare Associations. He said that a workshop has been planned by the SSP for training the policemen on behaving better with public.
Meanwhile, Noida Police has been verifying applications of tenants, domestic servants and security guards in order to keep the city safe.
Till now, they have completed verification of 2879 applications out of the total 3,879 applications that were received. SSP Preetinder Singh said that, at present, around 1000 applications are pending.
The verification cell of Noida Police received 996 applications for tenant verification, out of which 751 were verified and 261 are still under process.
