PIL to initiate against illegal buildings in Delhi
It has come to notice that there are a huge number of illegal establishments in the Chandini Chowk of Delhi.The revealings emerged after Naval Kishore, a resident of Chandni Chowk has filed a Public Interest Litigation at the High Court of Delhi that the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has not paid any heed to the alleged unauthorized constructions. The PIL was based on the Right To Information (RTI) replies by the MCD to Mr Kishore.
The complainant has asked the HC to order MCD to start a demolition drive against the illegal encroacher s. It was also cited in the PIL that the constructions were endangering the lives of residents in the area. Also the construction have failed to take any safety norms and may collapse any time.
