Power Hike Tariff paused in Bangalore

The Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) had recently decided to revise the power tariff leaving the residents of Bangalore in a trauma. However the commission has now decided to put a pause to the rate hike for certain span. With the on going raising interest rates, water tariff hike and now the spared  power supply is also following the same mantra, all these has increased the cost of living rapidly in Bangalore city. Also the threat faced by Electricity supply companies (Escoms) is that, the power rate hike might hit more than 88 paise.

Henceforth the Escoms officials have approached KERC to provide them a clear picture as to why the rate hike has been taken initiative off. Soon after the KERC declares the same the power distribution companies will hike the rates to the residents of the city. P Manivannan the managing director of BESCOM reported saying that they have taken time for the power purchase, rate hike and there after has decided to purchase 700MW of extra power to use in case of emergencies. However he claimed that the rate hike will be witnessed only when the bulk supply is utilized. Residents are no where spared with the decisions being made form the government organizations.
