Pune Residents to celebrate this Diwali Noise and Pollution-free
Diwali is a festival of sound and lights, however from now on residents of Pune have come forward to stop the spread of pollution emitted from burning crackers henceforth the residents are on a pollution-free drive. Y T Oke the founder and secretary of anti-noise pollution committee in Mumbai has come forward in spreading awareness by initiating a program the among residents, school and college students on the harmful effects of noise caused by burning up the firecrackers.
The main reason is that the noise pollution results in the increase of blood pressure and also diseases like heart attacks and strokes that can intern lead to deafness and also few suffer from respiratory failure resulting in loss of life. Oke added on saying that the leaflets in concern with the pollution-free drive leaflets were distributed to the residents and also students who interacted about them in schools and colleges. The pledge in the leaflet says that “the individual will save money to help poor instead of spending them on burning crackers and also to convey the same and spread a word to parents and all friends.
