Punjab and Haryana HC cancels 1.6 lakh BPL cards
Punjab and Haryana high court has directed the Haryana state government to cancel around 1.6 lakh Below Poverty Line (BPL) cards. According to the data collected from the government authorities, these cards have apparently been issued to ineligible individuals in the city. High court has passed orders to take rigorous action against the officials responsible for this disarray.
Also the court has ordered to collect the details of such BPL cards which have already been issued to the public and submit the same to the court within a span of two weeks. The high court has warned Haryana government not to allow such kind of mistakes to happen in future.
