No Comments Sub Category:Uncategorized Posted On: Nov 14, 2011
Chandigarh city has been witnessing irregular growth of shopping malls especially in the residential areas creating lot of chaos to the residents. The Punjab and Haryana high court henceforth has directed the state government to re- formulate the ”Punjab Model Building bylaws 2010”. Also it has given deadline of three days to present the amended notifications to stop the construction of the malls at the earliest.
The bench of judges reported saying that all the building sectors like; schools, commercial outlets, industrial sectors and the malls are asked to present themselves separately to the court and justify their construction either in the residential or commercial areas. Meanwhile certain builders have already sent notices and those petitioners started opposing the Jalandhar Civic Body for allowing builders to erect shopping malls in the residential areas.
Jalandhar Civic Body has been ordered to clear off all such irregular constructions from the residential areas within a span of six months. If the civic body fails to do so, government and bench of judges have warn them to levy a hefty penalty as they are fed with the illegal building mafia in the city.
