Rag pickers spot currency notes in garbage bin
Stacks of currency notes in the denomination of Rs 1,000, Rs 500 and Rs 100 were found torn in to pieces in a garbage bin at Woraiyur in Trichy.
The currencies were first spotted by rag pickers, who are searching for plastics and other items to sell.
As there was commotion around a garbage bin, passersby informed R Vanitha, a corporation councilor living near Woraiyur’s Vellala Street.
Vanitha said, the total value could be around 10 lakhs.
After preliminary investigation, the Woraiyur police confirmed that the currency notes were genuine.
