Real Estate demands tax modification in Budget 2012

The real estate industry demands tax rebates, excise duty reduction, stamp duty waivers and expansion of the interest subsidy on loans in the coming Budget 2012.

According to the real estate builders affordable housing projects will enhance the fund flow for the real estate market.

The sector also wants availability of funds at lower interest rate as the low budget infrastructure falls within the priority sector lending of Banks.

The real estate industry was planned to be plotted under a single tax regime.

The realty industry also wants to make the external commercial borrowing (ECB) available to enhance the inflow of funds. This plan will therefore help to reduce the debt ratio for realty industry.
