Real estate industry imparted with funds from private Equity

Private equity is taking a vital role for the growth of real estate sector in India. It is observed that fresh funds are being invested in real estate from different equity players.

During the year 2010-11 more than one billion dollar was invested in different residential projects in India.

The big sources of equity funds are HDFC Property, ICICI Ventures, Kotak Private Equity and ASK Group as the latest edition in real estate investment.

Though the equity funds will cost more, the builders are opting for PE as they need to reduce the debt ratio.

However, on the other hand the private equity is expecting high rate of returns from investments made the in real estate.
