registration charges in HyderabadHyderabad- Registration of properties in Andhra Pradesh can be done across any one of the 432 sub-registrar offices in any part of the state from July, 1, 2013. Property can be any house or land irrespective of location within the state.

According to the Principal Secretary of state, government has to establish a State Data Centre in IT hub of Gachibowli for this purpose. The data centre will have a capacity of 100 terabytes. The government will also set up a recovery centre outside the state in case of natural or human-induced disaster.

The registration process will be made online.  So far, online facility is made available in 258 sub-registrar offices. The remaining offices will soon have online facility within two months.

In this regard, the secretary had discussion with the representatives from the real estate sector at the Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chamber of Commerce and Industries. He said that people can save time and energy by filling registration form online. The complete registration process can be done without any delay. Each and every property in the state will have a unique identity which can be located by using certain coordinates.

The State Government is also planning to allow firms to use franking machine which automatically stamps letters or packages passing through it and computes the total charge.

The market value of properties has been increased for registration all over the state. The stamp duty has been reduced from 5 percent to 4 percent and registration fee has been retained at 0.5 percent. Now, the state has lowest rates across the country after Union Territory of Delhi.

The registration charges has been reduced from 7.5 percent to 6 percent in urban areas and 8.5 percent to 6 percent in rural areas. It was around 13.5 percent eight years back.

The Federation President demanded some changes to streamline the online registration process during the meeting.
