Residential buildings exceeding FAR in Delhi
The Urban Development Ministry in Delhi has been asked to recheck the regularization fee for all the residential buildings.
Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has passed these orders, as it recently learnt that around 80 percent of the residential buildings in the state are illegally constructed.
The maximum Floor Area Ratio (FAR) of a building is 300 and maximum permit for height of the building is 15 metres (ground+3). However, maximum of the residential buildings in Delhi has Floor Area Ratio (FAR) more than 400.
For now, till the new comprehensive plan for development of Delhi is prepared government has banned sealing and demolition of existing illegal structures.
