No Comments Sub Category:Awareness,Community Posted On: Oct 28, 2011

The denizens in Delhi upheld a pollution free Diwali. All this initiative was taken over by the “Dil se Diwali campaign” planned by the Delhi government, the campaign voiced out the ill effects of burning crackers. However the sound pollution was traced to be increased in comparison to previous year. A senior scientist Saha reported saying that the major role was that of the environment which took care of pollution free Diwali as it was windy, and city witnessed few spills of rain.

The worst hit was the city civic lines wherein it recorded the emission of all harmful chemicals into the air. Meanwhile Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) also has proved that the noise pollution was recorded as highest compared to all the previous years though the amount of crackers fired was less. Mayur Vihar was recorded as the nosiest part of the city, only because of windy and rainy weather the air pollution took a narrow escape this Diwali.
