Residents of Alandur opposed Chennai Metro Rail

The Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) identified the land required for constructing the station in Alandur in January, held discussions with 29 property owners. The CMRL officials reported that the land acquisition process is being taken care by the Collector of Kancheepuram. The officials explained saying that nearly 10 per cent of the land is required for metro rail which has the acquisition of remaining properties are in different stages.

One of the residents reported saying that the Metro Rail corridors which is at a length of 45 km is costing Rs. 14,000 crore. However in the time of June,2011 the CMRL got back to its prevailing offer which was issued by the land acquisition for the price of Rs. 900 per square feet and the residents of Chennai opposed and demanded a fair price.
