RWA accept the Apex Court’s order
The Supertech Emerald Court resident welfare association (RWA) on Wednesday has welcomed the Supreme Court’s order that has directed the developer to refund the principal amount within a month and pay 14 percent compound interest by October 30th to those buyers who wish to exit frm the twin towers in Gurgaon.
As stated by UB Teotia who is the president of Emerald Court RWA, they suggest that all the buyers should accept a refund and exit from the long legal trial that is going on in the Supreme Court. They also want the towers to be demolished as according to the Allahabad high court order because the foundation of the building is weak.
This is because the builder had not maintained a mandatory gap of 16 metres between the two towers and raised the height of building on a foundation meant for only 24 floors which will be a safety hazard. The Emerald Court RWA had initially filed the petition in the Allahabad High Court. Out of 600 residents 53 residents had asked for a refund which they had applied before 30th April. The court has asked the company the refund amount by this month.
