RWA Declines increased Power Tariff
Ashok Bagga, President of Greater Kailash RWA at a large gathering at south Delhi RWAs on Wednesday said that: “The RWA is participating in the movement on part of the posh colonies like Defense Colony, Chittaranjan Park, Saket, Alaknanada and nearly hundreds of RWAs had filed objections for the proposal by the discom to raise power tariff with DERC (Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission) with public consultations, however they were ignored by the regulatory bodies”.
DISCOM officials however reports saying “if bill payments are done without the hiked amount from time of September and October then they will be under the provision of Electricity Act of Short Payment”. Meanwhile DERC officials reported saying that “they had no intimation of such a plan by consumers or RWAs”.
The fight against in raise in recent power tariff is taking a new turn and about 60 plus Residents Association across south and east Delhi has come to conclusion not to pay the 22 percent increased tariff in the next billing. All the residents are looking forward to put up this issue to DERC.
