RWA moves HC on Land Encroachment in Mayur Vihar
The Delhi High Court has asked the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to comply with its earlier order to send two of its officers to the disputed site of alleged encroachment for inspection on a plea by the Resident Welfare Association (RWA).
According to the RWA, in 2003 on the complaints of the residents an FIR was registered against the encroacher but in February this year similar activities have been started by them again.
Justice Manmohan Singh asked the housing body to comply with the June 10 order asking the DDA to file a status report after inspection of RWA at village Kotla in Mayur Vihar Phase-I. The court was hearing a petition filed by the RWA through advocate Sitab Ali Chaudhary alleging the encroachers and anti social elements started their activities in the area. They have raised unauthorized construction thereupon to secure the possession and make the area permanent causing inconvenience to the residents, the RWA alleged.
