Safety Systems should be Planned when a Building is built
Cinema halls, multiplexes, and malls should have foolproof security. The City Security Wing on Friday conducted sensitization of security systems in the wake of the Mumbai blasts on Wednesday. Hyderabad commissioner of Police, Mr A.K. Khan was critical of the residents of Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills, where several thefts have taken place, saying, “They construct houses spending Rs 15 to Rs20 crore but don’t take safety and security measures. Even the huge glass windows will not have protective grills, making these houses vulnerable.”
Cinema halls, multiplexes, and malls should have foolproof security and the operators will be booked as abettors in case of terror attacks or mishaps if they have not followed security guidelines and failed to take preventive measures.
Meanwhile, the North Zone police on Friday served notices to Anand, Lamba and Tivoli theatres for failing to provide security measures. The Begumpet zone ACP, Mr B. Karunakar Reddy, said, “At around 6 pm on Friday, our men carried tiffin boxes and walked through metal detectors installed at the entrance of the theatres, but they didn’t detect anything. Later, we checked those metal detectors and they are not in working condition. So, we issued them notices.”
