Overflow of sewage water on roads has become a headache for Bangaloreans.

However, the residents of water deprived Hoskote have learnt to live with this and have started reusing the said water.

The drinking water issue in the area has been solved by the recent launch of a project by Minor Irrigation department.

In this project, water is being diverted to fill Doddakere lake located in Bangalore Rural district from from Yelemallappa Shetty tank near KR Puram.

Due to this initiative, around 60000 residents of Hoskote are getting clean water to drink after almost twenty years.

The project is worth Rs 2.49 crore and it got started in 2011.
