Show Cause Notice to Unregistered Property Dealers

No Comments Sub Category:Uncategorized Posted On: Apr 20, 2011

The Gurgaon district administration issued a show cause notice on Friday to all property dealers in the city who have not registered themselves so far. Under the Haryana Regulation of Property Dealers Consultants Act of 2008, it is mandatory for all individuals/companies dealing in real estate to get themselves registered with the district administration. Registered property dealers/builders are issued a license number which is referred to in all future transactions. This Act prevents non-registered individuals/firms from entering into any kind of transaction, be it sale/purchase/to-letting or others until a valid licence is obtained.

On Friday the district administration issued show cause notice to all dealers of unregistered realties. Till date, more than 850 property dealers and builders have been registered across the district. As per the show cause notice, any person found violating the norms can be imprisoned for up to six months and/or fined between Rs 10,000 and 50,000. It is compulsory for defaulters to reply to the notice within a fortnight to prevent any of the above actions being taken against them.

For an individual registration a fee of Rs. 25,000 has been fixed and for a firm or company registration the fee is Rs 50,000. If an individual is applying for the renewal of registration , he will have to pay a fee of Rs 5,000 while a company would be charged Rs 10,000. It is mandatory to renew registration every five years.

Information regarding all registered property dealers and builders in Gurgaon has been made available online at the official website of the district administration http://www.gurgaon.gov.in/pdealer.htm

The Haryana Regulation of Property Dealers Consultants Act came into force after several property related frauds were reported across the state. After the Act came into effect in January 2009, the district administration held a drive to register and subsequently train real estate dealers in March 2010. It is felt that this Act will go a long way in bringing transparency and a much-needed regulation to Haryana’s real estate sector.
