Signal-free corridor project likely to acquire Lalbagh land
The signal-free corridor project from Sirsi Circle-Agara Junction is likely to consume a large part of Lalbagh Botanical Gardens.
According to a report prepared by Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), as much as 13,800 square metre of Lalbagh land may be required to complete the project.
The report also suggests that the petty shops along the stretch between Lalbagh and Chamarajpet be also acquired apart from the Botanical Garden.
The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) has launched the project with four grade separators at four junctions at Sarjapur Road, Koramangala 100 Feet Road Junction, Koramangala 80-Feet Road Junction and Jakkasandra Junction as part of the signal-free corridor via Lalbagh Fort Road.
