Skywalks in Coimbatore
Coimbatore- Earlier, the civic body had passed a proposal to construct skywalks in front of railway station, Ukkadam, Coimbatore Medical College Hospital and in front of the new bus terminus on Mettupalayam Road for pedestrains to cross the busy traffic.
But now the civic body has dropped the plan of constructing the skywalks near Mettupalayam bus stand and Ukkadam. They will erect a skywalk at Ramanathapuram and Singanallur.
The design of the skywalks will be finalised after they send the proposal to the state government for a nod and also discuss the estimated cost with the technical experts.
The corporation has decided to look for financial help from the state government to complete the project.
