Slow construction at Buddha Park may affect tourism

The only construction found at the site was a half-done auditorium, but the park was supposed to have a multi-purpose hall, boundary walls on all three sides, a library, a cafeteria, an auditorium, a pond, idols of Lord Buddha, small huts and paintings on the boundary walls, attractive landscaping and designing to create a peaceful atmosphere for meditation.
The project was started in September 2009 with a budget of Rs 686.29 lakh on 3.90 acres of land at Buddha Circuit, and the deadline was December 2010.
It will be a matter of shame for the government, if it fails to finish the construction in time, as around 300 delegates along with scholars, Buddhist societies are expected to attend the conclave.
