Soft skills training to Bangalore Auto Drivers
The Bangalore City Traffic Police has come up with the novel idea to impart soft skills training to Auto drivers in Bangalore. The move was undertaken after many complaints about the prudish ways of auto drivers. The initiative was launched along with he Indian Institute of Job Training (IIJT). Some forty five drivers attended the training in the first session. The training was held at at the IIJT in Malleswaram.
With the move the traffic department hopes to curb the negative reposes by the drivers. Though there exists many good drivers however due to a few errant drivers the general conception of the the auto drivers is bad. The first session had seen drivers from Sriramnagar Malleswaram,Rajajinagar, Mathikere,Dasarahalli and West of Chord Road, attending the program. IIJT had planned to incorporate more auto drivers to attend the programme to make an impact. Since a sizable chunk of commuters in the city are dependent on autos.
