Tardy Roads in Varanasi
The commuters in Varanasi are finding very tough time traveling across the city as the roads have become withered and left un attended also the roads having potholes and lot of damages caused in name of municipal work. Public Work Department (PWD) and Varanasi Nagar Nigam (VNN) is not even bothered to repair the damaged roads in the city even on behalf of the central ministry, concerned officers warning over this. The roads over the time of monsoon will turn situations worse to worse, henceforth the officials have asked the municipal community to cover all the ditches and overflowing drainages in the road. The service roads in the city and also the flyover roads have pathetic prevailing conditions which needs immediate attention over it.
PWD officials are staying away from all these issues as if its none of their concern and if at all taken over the work they would drag it to nearly months together resulting in chaos over the city traffic. The construction of the flyover was said to be finished by the end of year 2009 but the construction work is still going on till date and the public has lost interest in terms of these prevailing issues. The G.T Road in Varanasi has been very badly damaged and PWD is hardly showing any interest to makeover the roads and complete the construction of flyover soon. In the midst of PWD longing road work and the government warning the PWD officials; the commuters, residents and the public are being badly affected.
