Ulsoor Lake park a threat to children

No Comments Sub Category:Uncategorized Posted On: Jun 27, 2012

With the gaping hole in the park left behind by a partially collapsed wall, the park near Ulsoor Lake has become a threat to children as it may lead children straight into the lake.

Residents were overjoyed when the statue of Vivekananda was unveiled at the park in 2006, as they thought the government would start spending for the park’s upkeep.

But the authorities neglected this green space. Hundreds of joggers visit this park every day.  Uneven path with sharp edges of stone jutting in places is causing a lot of inconvenience to old people.

Like the lake water, the fountain water in the park is green and it stinks and the lights on it are missing. The granite stone slabs are missing from some of the benches and the dustbins are rusted.

A BBMP engineer said a detailed project report had been prepared for the reconstruction of the retaining wall and removal of silt and garbage at the other end of the park.
