Uniform power tariff rejected in Mumbai

1 Comment Sub Category:Community,Uncategorized Posted On: Nov 30, 2011

Debates were on air in concern with implementing uniform power tariff structure in Mumbai city.

Now, finally the results are out, Union power minister has put this decision on halt!

Union power minister say that the uniform power tariff is on halt and having this structure in Mumbai is impossible.

The only reason is prevalence of private players in the business of providing electricity.

Also it has been traced that around 39 lakh power consumers in the city receive supply from MSEDCL, BEST, RInfra and Tata Power Company.

As the consumers are spread wide gaining power supply from private as well as from government owned companies the uniformity seems not to work.
