No Comments Sub Category:Uncategorized Posted On: Oct 21, 2011

United Phosphorous Limited (UPL) has tough times to face now for delaying in composting a new dumping plant in Mumbai. Even though UPL was aware of the lack of dumping sites in the city has still faked the promise of producing a new plant and moreover the garbage is found overflowing on all the main roads, this has left the city look completely untidy. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has turned aggressive with this kind of act upheld by UPL and has mandated to penalize the company with hefty sum.

The civic authorities have levied a fine sum of Rs. 50,000 for each day till the dumping site is constructed and is ready to use. This penalty will sum up to nearly Rs 1.8 crore and this is expected to be deducted from the final payment given to them. One of the municipal commissioner Mohan Adtani reported saying that the work has been delayed and this has made them to hold their payment till March 2012. Meanwhile UPL has requested to grant span of time and also promised to deliver their best at the earliest.
