Untimely Rainfall in Kolkata brings Relief to Residents
Residents in Kolkata were greatly relieved from the heat and humidity that was affecting the climate as the sky poured in relief rain in various parts of the city. It is actually unusual for the city to be experiencing sultry weather conditions during this part of the year. Meteorological department have predicted similar showers in the days to come. They said that the recent downpour is because of the cyclonic circulation that has developed in the Bay of Bengal.
However the rainfall is not likely to get heavy as the monsoon season is already over. Salt Lake and Alipore were the two places which received somewhat heavy rainfall then the rest of the region. No untoward incident happened due to the rainfall apart from the delay in the landing of a Guwahati flight.
