Vehicle Thieves Targeting Cars in Parking Lots
In two separate incidents, Noida residents had their cars stolen from the sector 18 parking. Moreover, the parking attendants had no clue about what had happened to the vehicles.
In the first incident, Govind Singh, a senior official in electricity department and resident of sector 20 went to sector 18 market along with his family to have dinner. When Singh returned and found his car missing, he questioned the parking attendant. Instead of admitting his negligence, the attendant started arguing and said that a person, who identified himself as Singh’s driver, asked him for the keys to get cigarettes kept in the dashboard.
Vehicle thieves are now targeting cars in parking lots. Senior police officers say that one gang may be involved in both cases as the two cars were stolen at almost the same time.
In the other incident, the car of a newly married businessman went missing from another sector 18 parking lot on Sunday. The victim, Rohit Sawhney has gone to shop in Center Stage Mall along with his wife Kuljyoti. The victim parked his car in the authorized parking lot of Noida Authority. When the couple returned after shopping, the attendant did not have the keys. Neither was the car there. Both the cases have been registered with the sector 20 police station.
