Water Woes in Nagpur
Residents in Nagpur had to suffer from the lack of water supply for three days. The disruption in the water supply occurred after a major leakage was detected in the pipeline near Pandhrabodi village which is eleven kilometres from Gondia. Due to the leakage around 8 feet pipeline had to be changed. The restoration work took two days to do so. Only after the restoration work was doneĀ partial water supply to Gondia was resumed.
The pipeline that transports water to Gondia is supposedly 35 years old. It transports water from Dangorli reservoir which is about 16km from the city. The construction of new storage plant is in progress and will take another two years for the project to be completed.
