West Bengal to clear land for JSW’s Salboni project soon
West Bengal commerce & industries minister Partha Chatterjee has announced that work on the steel project at Salboni in West Bengal proposed by Mr Sajjan Jindal-controlled JSW Steel Ltd will restart from August.
The state government is planning to sign a lease agreement with JSW. The government will ask the company to submit a fresh completion schedule.
Though JSW got ownership of the land, but it is not valid due to some technical glitches in the West Bengal Land Ceiling Act.
The lease agreement that is supposed to take place in August, will be signed five years after the JSW entered the development agreement with the then state government.
