Winters start in Chandigarh
Residents in Chandigarh wake up to a foggy morning this Friday. This bout of fog in the region is for the first time this season. Chandigarh meteorological department director, Surender Paul has said that the fog is a sign of the further lowering of mercury in the coming days. The temperature dropped to one degree Celsius on Friday. The weather officials have said that this drop in the temperature is due chain reaction of the significant drop in the temperature in Srinagar and Jammu areas. They also said that there will a significant reduction in temperature in the days to come.
Commuters in the early morning had to be extra careful while driving. The fog had rendered the visibility in the area to minimum. Weather officials have also said that this drastic change in the temperature will trigger the rise of influenza and such other diseases. Therefore the citizens are asked to take proper precaution to handle the climate change.
