I agree with you, the quality of water from the Coimbatore Corporation has really gone down in recent times. Apart from there being a shortage of water, the water is also polluted with sediments and worms as it sits for a longer time. Of course, the elite neighborhoods do not taste this problem at all. While it is quite surprising that the project is actually nearing completion, it is important to know that this was possible for the civic body because of the new main storage reservoir that was being supplied to Pilloor 11, giving it about 65 million litres everyday. The point of the Pilloor 11 water tank is that it can now supply water to the areas that were previously being supplied by Pilloor 1 that was backed by the Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage board. What are you saying! The city already has a number of bus stands. But yeah, we need one on the outskirts to improve the traffic condition within Coimbatore. I’ve heard about the new upcoming bus stand. Its in Vellalore, isn’t it? And like you said, its basically to hold off the heavy inflow of traffic. I think previously there was a plan to build the new bus stand on the Coimbatore-Kochi Bypass Road, because the Chettipalayam Road would then lead up to the bus stand, and it is wide enough to take all the traffic. But then they decided to go with Vellalore instead. I’m also hearing that the corporation is also going to shift the Lorry Pettai from Ukkadam to Vellalore.What are you saying! What the corporation is planning to do, is to shift all existing mofussil bus stands, like Gandhipuram, SETC, Singanullur and Ukkadam to this new bus stand on the outskirts. Currently what is happening is that all the traffic from outside the city are aiming for all these bus stands, and it is leading to unnecessary traffic blockages. If the major bus stand is shifted to the city outskirts, then that would prevent all this extra traffic from entering the city. I agree with you. When these patrons stopped paying for their maintenance work, the signals fell into disrepair. So now because of bad display, the drivers on the roads cant figure out how long they have to wait at the signals. The deputy commissioner of the city’s municipal corporation himself has said that they are going to be taking strict action against the encroachers. I don’t know how long this will take, because these encroachments have been happening for a long time, and the residents have also been complaining quite a lot. In fact its been almost a year in many of these cases of encroachments. This isn't the only project facing delay, there are five more. Makes sense. Pollution is never good for water bodies. But, at least keeping it clean and beautifying should be done. The Government can utilize the Vellalore Compost land as a part of this bus stand, there they can cut on a lot of cost. They are giving both 2 BHK residential houses and residential plots. see Vellalore, as a locality isn;t developed yet as per city standards. That will take time, so I suggest invest in a land here. If you want a 2 BHK house, you will have to shell out around 50 - 55lakhs for a floor space of 1600 sq ft on an average and if you want a 3 BHK house, you will mostly have to pay around 60 lakhs for a floor space of 1000 sq ft and if you want a more spacious 3 BHK (say 2000 - 2500 sq ft) you will have to pay approximately 70 - 80 lakhs. as there was absolutely no water. We had to fill buckets with water at
night and then use them for the next morning. We had sent a number of
complaints to the water board but got no reply. I blame the municipality
for their sheer lack of incompetance. After two weeks, it became
unbearable and we now have moved out into a apartment complex that has a

There's an indoor games area, not sure about what games there are here, probably carom, chess and table tennis. then this project also practices rain water harvesting techniques. there is also 24 hour power back up. I often take the nanjappa road via the tediously congested Gandhipuram signal. With this construction work having started, I dread every single time I have to take the route. But the inconvenience has not been as bad as it seemed. The use of technology means they can finish a days work in an hour.
