Dwarka-Gurgaon route needs better transport facility
Gurgaon- Lack of efficient public transport from Dwarka to Gurgaon has annoyed the commuters of Dwarka-Gurgaon.
Thousands of people commute in the route of Dwarka-Gurgaon and the small number of private buses that ply in this route are not sufficient. The private buses run only in peak hours and the DTC buses are very few which is making the residents troublesome.
Residents cannot stick to particular timings to commute as the buses ply between the Millennium City and Dwarka are very consistent. In non-peak hours it is even more difficult to find a bus. Adding to the problem, the chartered buses often overcharge from passengers and conductors shout at and misbehave with the helpless commuters who rely on their services.
Along with transport woes, security has also been a major concern for the commuters. And particularly after the recent Delhi gang-rape incident involving a chartered bus, people are afraid to commute by private transport.
Though there is Delhi Metro service at Sector 21 and Iffco Chowk, both the places lack direct connectivity. Delhi Metro’s blue line serves Sector 21 while Jahangirpuri-HUDA City Centre line serves Iffco Chowk. An extension of the Airport Express network, was proposed which will connect Dwarka’s Sector-21 with Iffco Chowk in Gurgaon.
